Founder & Creative Director

Matt is a fly fishing writer, instructor, RIO Products Signature Tyer, and content creator based in Cleveland, Ohio. As founder of Northeast Ohio Angling, he combines his passion for the Great Lakes fishery with original writing, photography, and creative collaborations across the fly fishing industry.

Ryan Glinn

Photographer & Creative Contributor

Ryan is an avid multispecies angler and creative contributor to Northeast Ohio Angling. He brings his passion for fishing and the outdoors, supporting photography, media production, and original content for Eight Weight.

Rooted in the diverse fisheries of the Great Lakes region, we work with anglers, outdoor brands, and industry publications to share knowledge, promote quality products, and celebrate the sport of fly fishing.

  • We produce original written, photographic, and video content for outdoor brands and publications. Our work has been featured by leading brands including G. Loomis, St. Croix, RIO Products, and Cheeky Fishing, as well as publications such as Fly Fisherman, Flylords, The Drake, and American Fly Fishing.

    We also publish Eight Weight, our in-house editorial platform featuring original fly-fishing stories, photography, industry perspectives, and technical content.

  • We offer custom-tied flies through our online shop, along with original fly pattern design, development, and licensing through RIO Products’ Signature Tyer Program.

  • In-person events provide an opportunity to connect with fellow anglers throughout the region. We offer seminars, fly-tying classes, and presentations covering the species, techniques, and fisheries of the Midwest.
